2nd floor, 2BR, 2 bath in a walled garden setting a mile from the beach and the high-rise hotel area. *FIXED WEEK 52 WITH CHECKIN SATURDAY DEC. 24 & CHECKOUT SATURDAY DEC 31. Sleeps 6 with living room pull out sofa. Full kitchen, w/a service kitchen in second bedroom. Satellite TV. Free internet. A free scheduled beach shuttle to Eagle Beach. Check-in 4 PM, check out 10 AM SHARP. Non-smoking resort. No pets. Free parking. Guest laundry with a small fee. 2 outdoor pools, pool bar, Jacuzzis, small fitness center, open-air restaurant, gas grills/picnic area for each building. Non-stop air service from Newark and Philadelphia. Other flights originating at EWR and PHL stop in Charlotte and Miami. On the return trip, you will clear US immigration and customs in Aruba.  All travelers must complete Aruba’s online Embarkation / Disembarkation Card, a digitized customs and immigration process, before arrival. It is very easy. COVID pre-arrival testing requirements, curfews, and gathering limits have been lifted. If they remain in place, Aruba has adequate provisions for pre-entry testing of tourists returning to the US, but there are fees. Currencies are the Aruban florin, also called the guilder (1.75 to USD) and the USD. Only the smallest establishments do not accept USDs. Supermarkets and restaurants have cash registers that calculate prices in both currencies, but you may receive change in florins. Larger establishments post prices in USD as well as florins. Most credit cards accepted, although Discover & American Express not as widely. US Bank debit cards also accepted at large markets. Official language is Papiamento but English is spoken by most residents. Spanish & Dutch also are widely spoken. $10/day energy surcharge; occupancy tax of $11.88/day. There is a single $25 environmental fee, that has been largely dedicated to the construction of the Linear Park that will run the length of the island, the free streetcar on Main Street, and other public amenities. Fees paid at checkout. DO NOT buy bottled water! Aruba has a de-salinization plant that uses reverse osmosis. It has no chemical taste or smell and is extremely soft. *“Week 52” is the most popular week of the year. The disruption in tourism that occurred in 2020 and 2021, followed by a surge of visitors to Aruba affected the availability and price of rental cars. There are many rental outlets at the airport, and most have online reservation systems. There are also some local outlets that rent used cars at lower prices. Many companies will deliver a car to your resort. Regulated taxi service is available from the airport, with the queue and a marshal at the airport curb. CPV is less than a 1 mile walk from the high-rise area. The street next to CPV leads to it. It is lined with several good local restaurants that are friendlier and more reasonable than those near the hotel/casinos. Downtown Orangestad also has very European cuisine and seafood restaurants, less crowded, with lower prices and better service than in the high rises. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day religious services are conducted at churches.
