The Avalon Hotel rests quietly on Catalina Island which is approximately twenty-two nautical miles off of the Southern California coast of Long Beach. The island can be easily accessed by a relaxing hour-long passenger ferry ride on the Catalina Express. There are two ports on the island with transportation on the mainland being available from several Southern California ports.
