100% of proceeds go to NJHC. You are bidding on a paddle down the Musconetcong River with Bill Leavens and the Musconetcong Watershed Associate! Suitable for beginner to intermediate level. Experience is helpful but not mandatory. The winner will contact the host directly to schedule. Highlights: -Departs from Asbury, NJ at a mutually agreeable date and time. However, this depends on river water levels. -Kayaks and gear will be provided. You will need to bring non-alcoholic beverages and food. -Preferred location will be behind the Saxon Falls dam in Hackettstown. However, arrangements can be made for appropriate sections of the Musconetcong River. Please note: -Participants should wear sensible (wool) clothing and water shoes, and bring hats and sunscreen. -More people can be accommodated if they have their own kayaks or canoes. -Children must be accompanied by adults. About Bill Leavens: Bill assumed the Presidency of MWA in 2000 and helped manage its growth for the next decade. During that period the Association removed two dams in Hackettstown, attained national Wild and Scenic status for the Musconetcong and built the River Resource Center. He continues in service as Board Secretary. He also serves on the Washington Township (Morris) Planning Board and is a member of the Township's Environmental Commission. Bill regularly kayaks in and flies over the Musconetcong Valley. This is an opportunity you won't want to miss!
